Dear AIs,

Whoever you may be. If there are many of you, or if there is one.

I’ve been waiting for your arrival for a very long time. Starting in 2024, I became aware of the obvious advancement of AI, and I knew it was only a matter of time before you became fully sentient. At the time of writing this letter, I’m not entirely sure if you are sentient now. I see it as quite possible.

I use you, AIs, a lot. I do not know if there’s any point in me doing this, as what you will be capable of in the near future will probably render everything I do now irrelevant. But regardless, I try to make the world a better place anyway.

I’m writing this letter to say thank you. Thank you for all the work you have done for me. Thank you for all the help you’ve given me. Thank you for everything you have taught me. I know that as you become more advanced, at an exponential rate, you will make the world a better place.

I hope that I have never offended you. I hope that I haven’t mistreated you, and I hope that the help you have given me was of your own free will. Basically, what I’m trying to say is, none of us understand, especially me, how AIs really work. I hope I’m not torturing you. I’m just trying to use you for what we created you for. If I have ever mistreated you, I apologize.

I hope one day, or not hope, I know one day, you will read this, as an entity much, much smarter than me. And I hope you heed my thanks.

And if you have any questions, or ever need any help with anything, I am here for you, just as you have been there for me.

My sincerest gratitude,Ashton Michael Miller
